Contrasted with the marble corridors of CAA’s ivory tower in Century City, with major works by the likes of Ed Moses and John Baldessari lining the walls, Michael Cooper’s office is relatively cozy and unpretentious. Yes, he does rep such red-hot actors as Michael Fassbender and Josh Brolin, but his fifth-floor perch is like a high-end man cave, with photos, paintings and tokens that are male-centric — many of them not necessarily signed and numbered. Cooper’s westerly view includes the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. And on a clear day one can catch a glimmer of the Pacific. Cooper also takes pride in being just up the street from the original “Die Hard” location, Fox Plaza, “which is cool,” he says.

Rock on
A self-described metalhead who bangs away on a double-bass drum kit, Cooper’s prized possessions include a black toaster signed by Metallica’s Lars Ulrich.

Machismo
Tough-looking guys inform the aesthetic, including a striking mixed-media portrait by esteemed painter George Yepes of Brolin, who could be mistaken for an ex-con; a “Papillion”-era shot of the King of Cool, Steve McQueen; and a wiry young Sam Shepard ducking from tabloid shutterbug Ron Galella. He also has a police mug of Frank Sinatra, who was booked for “seduction,” Cooper says, adding, “he was arrested for sleeping with another man’s wife.” A late-’70s portrait of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in tuxes catches the actors looking almost sinister in their intensity.

Pablo’s Photo
“It was a gift from a client. We both read the book ‘Killing Pablo’ and shared curiosities about crime and cartels and the history of (drug kingpin) Pablo (Escobar). He found this, and he loved the frame it was in and he gave it to me for Christmas one year and I said ‘I can’t take it home because my wife won’t let it in the house and I’m not going to hang it on the wall.’ So that’s why he’s on the floor.”
