After years of covering the Kardashians and Jenners, I'm quite confident that they are in complete control of how they're perceived. Not that I've ever seen them with chipped nail polish, but if one of the sisters was seen wearing chipped nail polish, it's because she wants you to see her wearing chipped nail polish. That's why I'm quite sure that when Kylie Jenner was photographed last night with a big ol' piece of hair covering one of her eyes, it was very much on purpose. That's exactly how she wanted to be viewed — even if her own view was obstructed.
On November 1, Kylie Jenner attended WSJ magazine's 2023 Innovator Awards at New York City's Museum of Modern Art, where she was honoured as brand innovator of the year for Khy — a very impressive feat considering it launched, like, five minutes ago. Khy is all about faux leather looks like the one she wore to the event, but, ironically, her dark brown, leather-like strapless dress is a Ferragamo design.
The dark brown hue was echoed in Jenner's beauty look. She wore a short, glossy, dark-chocolate manicure (not unlike sister Kourtney Kardashian's cocoa nails a few months ago), and of course, her hair is a rich, deep shade of brunette. And Jenner herself got quite a closeup of the colour while she posed on the yellow carpet because she let a tendril sit right in front of her right eye, blocking the entire iris.
During the event itself, Jenner seems to have brushed the pieces out of her face so it could join the rest of her deeply parted, Old Hollywood waves. But the photos she posted to Instagram after the event show the piece made its triumphant return to in front of her eye.
And considering that even on Khy's website she models the styles with hair in front of her right eye, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a new signature look for Jenner.
